Surtsey.org is a project headed by the Swedish Sea Rescue Society, Sjöräddningssällskapet, which is a non profit organization.

For the time being, Surtsey.org is in a prototype phase. It is deployed on a limited scale. It will likely see changes, big and small, to all aspects of the service. It isn't yet backed by thorough intellectual property underpinnings. It may be canceled all-together. But we hope that it will evolve and become a useful tool for spreading and finding projects and innovations related to safety and rescue on the water. We hope that it will trigger new collaborations and new opportunities. And of course, we hope that it will help save lives!
